WELL THAT WAS DRAMATIC
.
Last night I stepped onto the @royaloperahouse stage alongside the wonderful @akanetakane performing MANON with the same mentality that I always adopt which is ‘To Dance like it is the last time you will ever Dance’ - I was enjoying the performance so much and felt a sense of freedom in Act 2 that I search for on a daily basis HOWEVER my body said ‘No’ and I felt something go terribly wrong in my Achilles towards the end of Act 2 in front of the audience..... I was no longer able to continue with the performance....
.
My heart goes out to Akane and to @reececlarke_ for stepping in to complete the performance 🙏
.
At this stage I am unclear of the damage however I do know that I LIKE A CHALLENGE and I have a feeling this is going to be MY BIGGEST CHALLENGE YET 💪🏻

DETERMINED or STUPID?

Today was another big step in the rehab process with rehearsal on stage ahead of Fridays 1st performance back in a Classical role post knee reconstruction!
.
The combination of factors such as obvious apprehension of jumping on stage again, blinding lights, music tempos, etc etc make me ask the question, WHY.?. Why do we put ourselves through this?………. I would still like to believe that it is driven by the passion for our art form, but when you take a step back and look at the entire situation, I do fear there is an element of stupidity too.!.?

Today was tough for me BUT I must remind myself that it is a miracle that I am even at this point so I will celebrate the hard work done behind the scenes with my team and continue to aspire for a higher level of excellence with every performance to come!
