This time we have an exclusive excerpt from a La Fille mal gardée masterclass in collaboration with The Frederick Ashton Foundation taught by Artistic Director Carlos Acosta CBE and Sandra Madgwick (former BRB Principal) and performed by Principal dancers Beatrice Parma and Max Maslen.

Melody in Three was premiered as part of Birmingham Royal Ballet's week long residency at Birmingham Museum and Gallery in June 2024. Artist Olivia Chang Clarke was commissioned by the London Ballet Circle to choreograph this piece after showing great talent and passion during her time at Elmhurst Ballet School.
Melody in Three featured Birmingham Royal Ballet's Rosanna Ely, Reina Fuchigami, Tessa Hogge, Ava May Llewellyn
, Alexandra Manuel, Oscar Kempsey-Fagg, Mason King,
Gus Payne, Alfie Shacklock and Shuailun Wu.
This joyous piece was inspired by the music of Mozart and includes Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Divertimento No. 1 in D major, K. 136, Charles Auguste de Bériot: Solo Violin Music, Vol. 1 and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525: IV. Rondò Allegro. Music was played live by Yen Lee
(Piano), Joana Valentinaviciute, Co-Leader of the Royal Ballet Sinfonia
(Solo violin) and Birmingham Conservatoire's Risonanza Quartet (Ming Zeng, Vincent Wong, Jinhe Huang, Tiange Li).
