"Bearing the torch to the chairmen of the jury, Robert Joffrey and Vera Kirova in the opening night gala. These were my first round performances of Corsaire solo and coda and the Aurora Act I variation from Sleeping Beauty. Frederick Wodin is my coach pictured in the wings; he was the assistant coach to David Howard, who prepared me for the competition. I won the silver medal that year."
